For my senior graphic design project at Auburn University I created the Saltmarsh Festival: an event in Beaufort, South Carolina that celebrates the beloved food, art, and music of the lowcountry. This event takes place once a year over the course of a summer weekend and the setting is outdoors, surrounded by the live oaks, marshlands, and waterways of Beaufort. Tents are available to be reserved by local artisans and small businesses who wish to display and sell their goods to the community. The Saltmarsh Festival aims to foster intergenerational community engagement while showcasing local artisans, celebrating the Gullah-Geechee culture, and promoting sustainable practices. This event is family-friendly and provides ample opportunities for individuals to both enjoy and pour into their lowcountry community.
